Lifeline Endure
Durability and Protection for Wood Decks
After years of testing and development, we are proud to introduce Lifeline Endure – the highest performing semi-transparent deck finish available today.
In both laboratory and real world tests, Lifeline Endure has exceeded even our own expectations of durability, color retention, and UV protection. In side-by-side comparisons, its water-borne formula has clearly outperformed all competitive finish systems.
Because it lasts longer, Lifeline Endure offers the lowest-maintenance solution for finishing decks, porches, railings and outdoor furniture. Simply use Log Wash with your garden hose and sprayer to remove dirt and keep the wood looking like new. Maintenance coats may be easily applied every two to five years.
Finally someone invented a better deck finish - Lifeline Endure.

Lifeline Endure™ Deck Finish Application Instructions
(Printer Friendly Version Here)
Endure Deck Finish is a two coat, water-based finish system specifically
designed for use on decks, railings, posts, fences and other horizontal and
vertical surfaces. Being a complete finish system there is no need to apply
other products over Endure Deck Finish. It will protect the wood from water,
sunlight and other environmental damage.
Application Tips
- On new, pressure treated decks allow the wood to dry for at least two
months before cleaning and staining.
- Stir well before use. To avoid lap marks do not stop in the middle of
any board and maintain a wet edge as you go along.
- Wait for the first coat of Endure to dry before applying the second
coat. If it is dry enough to walk on without leaving footprints, it is ready
for the next coat.
Application Instructions
STEP #1: SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces should be free from mill glaze and contaminates including
dirt, dust, mold and mildew, old finishes, water repellents and wax. Use
appropriate materials to clean and prepare surfaces.
For new, pressure treated decks we recommend that the wood be allowed dry for at
least two months before applying a finish. If a borate-based wood preservative
has been previously applied, make sure it is completely dry before applying
Endure Deck Finish. If the surface is tacky or there are visible deposits on the
wood, wash the surface with water and allow to dry. DO NOT USE ENDURE DECK
FINISH ON SURFACES THAT HAVE BEEN BRUSHED OR RUBBED WITH STEEL WOOL. IF YOU DO,
RUST SPOTS MAY APPEAR UNDER THE FINISH. If more than a week has passed since the
deck has been cleaned, wash down the surface of the wood with an appropriate
cleaning solution such as Log Wash™, rinse well and allow to dry before applying
Endure Deck Finish.
STEP #2: APPLICATION
COVERAGE RATE: One gallon of Endure Deck Finish will cover
approximately 150 to 200 square feet for the first coat on unfinished wood
depending on wood type and porosity. The second coat will require approximately
40% less or about 250 to 350 square feet per gallon. DO NOT THIN WITH WATER OR
ANY OTHER SOLVENT.
STIR THOROUGHLY before and regularly during use. Wear rubber gloves to avoid
stains to the skin and fingernails. If multiple containers are used on the job,
they should be poured together to ensure color consistence. Endure Deck Finish
can be applied with a brush or pad. Do not apply when the surface temperature is
below 40° F or above 90° F. DO NOT APPLY TO HOT SURFACES OR IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
Back brushing is required to work the finish into the wood for optimum
performance. Always keep a “wet edge” to avoid lap marks.
Endure Deck Finish is a two-coat application finish system. Allow at least two
hours drying time before applying the second coat. If the wood surface is rough
or porous, the color may be noticeably darker than on smooth wood.
STEP #3: CLEANUP
Clean area and equipment immediately with warm, soapy water. For
removing Endure Deck Finish that has dried, soften with alcohol or mineral
spirits and then clean with warm water. Please do not pollute our environment.
Dispose of containers and unused material in accordance with local, state, and
federal regulations.
STEP #4: MAINTENANCE
Apply periodic maintenance coats as needed. Additional coats of Endure
Deck Finish may be applied directly over existing coats. Make sure the surface
is clean before applying additional coats.
STEP #5: STORAGE
Store Endure Deck Finish out of direct sunlight and protect from
freezing. Although Endure Deck Finish is freeze-thaw stable, if the product is
accidentally frozen, allow to thaw, mix well and check for suitability of use
before applying.
